overnight in history
The “Overnight in History” program will allow guests to spend the night in our caboose, oil house, homestead, or sheep wagon. While the structures will be comfortable and the accommodations reasonable, the primary goal is to promote learning through historic accuracy. Authentic experiences like this are rare. “Overnight in History” adventures will begin with a site orientation, optional dinner, discussion about the venue and its role in history, the overnight stay, and breakfast the next morning. Funding is needed to build the 12’ x 12’ restroom and shower facility for our guests.
Point Drive Inn
The museum proposes to rebuild the original Point Drive Inn to generate revenue, reintroduce a forgotten community tradition, and interpret the 1950s. The plan is to recreate the 12’ x 24’ building. On selected evenings, the Point will be open to the public for curb service with period music playing. A limited menu of ice cream treats, bottled sodas and occasionally hot dogs and hamburgers will be offered for purchase at market prices.
pioneer store
The P.P. Lee Mercantile (commonly known as the Pioneer Store) has been returned to its 1901 appearance, being one of the first businesses in Cut Bank. The back half of the building is used for events such as the silent film showings, game nights, and the popular Dinners at the Club Cafe, a popular dining spot in early Cut Bank. The front half of the building has a wonderful recreation of merchandise sold in this area. There is lots more to add, however, for a more complete picture!
